Day 1:
We will pick you up from your accommodation at approximately 8:00 am and drive for roughly one and a half hours to Doi Inthanon National Park. Upon arrival, your guide will provide an overview of the day’s hike and what to expect. After this, you’ll embark on a trek through lush jungle terrain, visiting cascading waterfalls where you can swim and unwind. During your trek, your guide will take you to visit a local Karen Hill tribe where you will be invited to walk through the village, visit their homes, learn about Karen culture and gain an understanding of the Karen people. At the end of your day, you will set up camp for the night in a bamboo cabin nestled within the jungle, complete with mosquito nets for comfort, followed by a communal campfire dinner under the stars.
Day 2:
You will start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading back into the jungle, to make your way to the elephant camp. There, you will be greeted by members of the Karen Hill Tribe, who will give you traditional clothes to wear. You will also be provided with fruit and vegetables to feed the elephants, if they are hungry. Your guide will educate you on each of the elephants, the history of the park and the ethical landscape. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to observe the elephants in their home, offer them snacks to munch on, and swim in the river alongside them.
After saying your goodbyes to your new elephant friends, you will be treated to another freshly prepared, local lunch before setting off on a short hike to Rak Jung waterfall. Your trip concludes with a rafting adventure where you will be guided down the river on a bamboo raft, before being returned to your accommodation in Chiang Mai at approximately 4:30 pm.
Throughout the tour your guide will take high quality photographs, which will be shared for free, so that you can fully focus on enjoying your experience.
